ABOUT

About Bonita Lockings

Bonita Lockings is an ICF Certified Professional Coach and SHRM–PHR Certified Human Resources Executive with over 25 years of experience in human resources leadership, talent and project management, and executive coaching.

A lifelong learner and teacher, Bonita has dedicated her career to helping individuals and organizations grow through clarity, trust, and thoughtful leadership. Her work spans for-profit and nonprofit organizations, community groups, and leadership teams across a wide range of industries with companies such as IBM, Tenneco Oil E&P, the law firm of Vinson and Elkins, the Greater Houston Partnership.

Bonita’s career experience includes serving as a Chief Human Resources Officer, where she led people strategy, organizational development, and in-house executive coaching for emerging and senior leaders. In these roles, she partnered closely with executive teams, providing guidance through change, growth, and complex people challenges.

Her coaching style is dynamic, honest, and deeply human and was developed serving as an internal and external coach. Clients often describe her presence as grounded and steady-creating a space where honest conversation feels possible, even when topics are difficult. She challenges leaders thoughtfully, helping them see blind spots, question long-held assumptions, and move toward more intentional action.

Bonita brings an unorthodox yet practical tone to her work. She believes leadership development should be real, not performative. Growth, in her view, happens when leaders are willing to sit with discomfort, listen to their inner voice deeply, and take responsibility for how their behavior shapes outcomes.

With a proven track record and long-standing client relationships, Bonita is known for delivering on what she promises both as a consultant and as a coach. Her clients trust her not only for her expertise, but for her integrity, discretion, and commitment to meaningful results.
